REFERRER TYPES

Direct Referrer

Description: An individual or business referrer that refers prospective clients on occasion to H&L Victoria, but does not actively promote H&L Victoria to all clients.

  • Qualification: No requirements
  • Referral amount: $2500 inc GST
  • Referral paid: At lockup stage
  • Payment format: Gift card or invoice

Active Promoter

Description:  An individual or business that actively promotes H&L Victoria with the intention of obtaining as many successful referrals as they can.

  • Qualification: 5 x active clients at the time of claiming the referral fee (lockup stage). An active client is any one of your referred clients in our system that has paid an initial deposit, but has not yet completed the handover of their home.
  • Referral amount: $5000 inc GST
  • Referral paid: At lockup stage
  • Payment format: Invoice only

Most home builders have display homes… and as a result they need to spend marketing dollars on getting people to visit those display homes so they can generate sales. H&L Victoria does not have display homes, and therefore does not rely on spending marketing dollars upfront to generate foot traffic. Instead, we have homes that can be viewed by appointment only, which means that the money that we are saving on not needing foot traffic is allocated to our referral partners instead.

Absolutely not. This program is about giving motivated and like-minded individuals the opportunity to treat this like their own affiliate business and generate extra income for their family. For some people, a few successful referrals will make a great side hustle and compliment their full time income. For promoters taking it more seriously and actively building their own referral network, this opportunity could replace a 9-5 job or even provide a substantial income for a stay-at-home parent for example. Most importantly for us, we see our referral program as a way to help everyday people achieve their own version of freedom.

Firstly, no – clients do not need their own land. We can help people with land or source a block for them. Regarding the build areas, H&L Victoria is a new home broker, which means we have a network of different builders to choose from across Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat and most other regional areas in Victoria. Whilst we can cover most areas, it is important to understand that not every client will suit our product offering, and therefore our referrers need to ensure that the people they refer are looking for a solution in line with the product we provide… which is: Investors or first home buyers looking to construct a new home with full turnkey inclusions that cover everything you’ll need such as front and rear landscaping, driveway, fencing, letterbox, clothesline, cooling, blinds and much more. When someone pays an initial deposit, we will inform you in writing. As for the updates on all referred clients, once per month we will send you an outline via email of what stage each of your deposited clients are at in their pre-site or onsite journey. It’s also important to note that there can be only one referral paid per client job, so the first to submit a completed referral form will be defined as the successful referrer. In the event you submit a referral form and the client already exists in our system, unfortunately you will not be able to claim the referral.

There’s no short answer to this question, so please read this carefully and in full.

There are two levels of referrers – Direct Referrers and Active Promoters. Both levels can claim their referral payments when the job reaches the lockup stage of construction, which we will notify you about. A Direct Referrer can claim $2500 inc GST per successful referral, whilst an Active Promoter can claim $5000 inc GST. To be considered an Active Promoter, you need to have 5 x active clients (including the one you’re claiming) in our system at the time of claiming your referral fee (lockup stage). An active client is any one of your referred clients in our system that has paid an initial deposit, but has not yet completed the handover of their home. Anyone referred that has not yet paid a deposit is not considered an active referral. The benefit of this system is that you can become an Active Promoter from your first referral, because by the time your first referral has reached lockup stage you only need to have another 4 x deposited clients in the system to qualify.

Not only that, but if you also consider that the time it takes from a deposit through to completion can range from months to 2+ years based on land titles, your clients can remain ‘active’ for a substantial amount of time.

There are 2 x payment types – gift cards or invoice. Gift cards are only available to claim up to $2500 inc GST. All remaining claims must be via invoice, where you will need to have an ABN or ACN registered. It’s important to remember that you are responsible for emailing your claim to us… and we will then pay within 14 days of receipt of that claim / invoice.

Invoices and claims should be sent to accounts@hlvictoria.com.au – with the client name and referrer name in the subject line.

To attract customers, it firstly depends on the type of referrer you are / want to be.

Direct referrers obtain referrals on occasion as the opportunity presents itself to them. It could be a family member, work colleague or another parent from school talking about building for example. In this case, a direct referrer would mention that they know someone from a company called H&L Victoria and suggest that they view the website to learn more… and if any interest in looking further, to let them know and they can arrange for H&L Victoria to make contact.

An active promoter (as the name says) actively promotes the referral program through their community and their networks that they continue to build over time – presenting the opportunity to them. Some active promoters become the ‘go to’ person in their community through word of mouth for anyone looking to build, whilst others can create facebook groups, promote the education videos, virtual tours, etc and provide the referral page link to prospects.
